This What Happens

This What Happens – This collage is just a quick collection of images I’ve found through Kansas City and on my bicycle touring adventures. It’s the cover for my most recent chapbook and for my spoken word poetry CD that just came out. The long road is Highway 58 in the Flinthills of Kansas on the way to Wichita. The title comes from a piece of graffiti that I found in the rail road gulley in the old Turkey Creek creek bed that runs through downtown Kansas City. This is described in my 816 poem: “…Turkey Creek got tunneled underground to build the busiest freight train hub in the nation, leaving a secret concrete canyon behind 19th and Charlotte blooming beyond with street art….”
